W. Mahanoy police seek missing teen
West Mahanoy Township police are attempting to locate a 15-year-old girl who has been missing since early Sunday morning.
Tiffany Pagan was last seen in the 200 block of West Fourth Street in Hazleton, police said.
A Hispanic female, she is 5 feet tall and weights 125 pounds, with long brown hair and blonde bangs. She was wearing a black North Face coat and Air Jordan sneakers.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts is asked to call West Mahanoy police at 462-2360 or 462-1991.

I am working on getting a picture of the girl. I saw a poster about Tiffany Pagan in a Hazleton gaming store today (Dec. 1) and wanted to post the story on SaveShen. The flyer showed a pretty young Hispanic girl holding a newborn baby. If it was her own child, I certainly hope Tiffany is safe and sound so she can return to her baby. Shenandoah Teens Dismissal Hearing
The three teenagers charged as adults in Shenandoah, Derrick Donchak, Colin Walsh, and Brandon Piekarsky, asked to have the charges dismissed. A hearing was scheduled for 9:30am this morning (11/13/08).
Two friends drove an hour to my house, where another friend and I waited. The four of us drove another hour to Pottsville to witness the goings-on of this dismissal hearing.
When we first arrived, I recognized some of the wonderful people I've met and have been keeping in touch with. I am happy to say the families are remaining strong and supportive!
I overheard someone talking about a plea bargain. As I listened, I learned that only yesterday, the District Attorney offered a sweet deal to the boys. Apparently, he was willing to drop everything but assault and ethnic intimidation, with a sentence of ten months in county prison. Wow. I guess even the DA knows he has NO CASE against these boys, but since he's up for election as a judge, he needs SOME kind of conviction on them.
We entered the courtroom, and waited and waited. Then we waited some more. After about an hour and a half of waiting, I found out that the judge, attorneys, and DA were in judge's chambers downstairs. Here's where this whole situation gets really whacky:
The DA wanted the plea deal, the defense was wholeheartedly considering it, and the judge was willing to approve it. Then MALDEF and the Department of Justice (DOJ) called Crystal Dillman (self-titled "fiancee" of Luis Eduardo Ramirez Zavala) and Ramirez Zavala's mother in Mexico who used an interpreter. Both Momma Ramirez and Dillman fought against the plea deal because it wasn't harsh enough. Well, I'll be ..
Since WHEN does the American judicial process get halted by racist, ethnocentric brown supremacy groups? Why is the DOJ working WITH anti-American, racist groups?
Back to the courtroom: we waited still for the hearing to start, or to get word of any plea bargains being accepted. Finally, the ten-minute hearing began. The judge told the DA he has several items to answer, within ten days, and the judge named off several numbers that apparently correlate to a packet of papers they had. I found out later on that some of those numbers included the DA handing over evidence to support the charges of homicide and ethnic intimidation. The judge will also consider severing the trials, so they might be tried separately.
We then went out into the hallway, where a slew of reporters with cameras waited for the teens to be led out of the courtroom. Once the boys had passed, the reporters asked some of us to interview on camera. My friend, Debby Rabold gave striking interviews with several of them. I spoke to Bob Reynolds from WNEP. Much to my surprise, they actually included some of what I said! LOL!

Judge Rules Against Using the Term "illegal" or "alien" to Refer to Illegal Aliens
Yes folks - let the Political Correctness on Steroids begin under a liberal adminstration. This is how they silence the critics of illegal immigration. They will outlaw being able to state the FACTS and soon they will muzzle all Americans into just shutting up and taking the invasion of their country. How far will YOU let this go?
This is an approrpriate entry on Save Shenandoah because - Shenandoah is being used as an example of what happens when you "demonize" illegal aliens. MALDEF and LULAC are trying to say that fighting illegal immigration is resulting in anti-Mexican hatred and that Amerians are now going after illegal alien Mexicans and killing them. So they will use this platform to silence ALL critics of illegal immigration and YOU are letting them do that by allowing them to use your town!
This invasion of our country is happening town by town and with the help of enablers like the million dollar funded MALDEF and LULAC and YOU as an American citizen mean NOTHING to these invaders and their enablers EXCEPT you are providing the goodies. Arizona’s Supreme Court Justice has agreed to enforce the Hispanic Bar Association’s demands of banning the terms “illegal” and “aliens” in all of the state’s courtrooms.
Claiming that the terms are inflammatory, the president of Arizona’s Hispanic Bar Association, (known as Los Abogados) has asked state Supreme Court Chief Justice Ruth McGregor to stop using them at trials or hearings because they create perceptions of judicial bias.
In a strongly worded letter to the chief justice, Los Abogados’ president says attaching an illegal status to a person establishes a brand of contemptibility, creates the appearance of anti-immigrant prejudice and tarnishes the image of courts as a place where disputes may be fairly resolved.
It further points out that no human being is illegal and that a national Hispanic journalism association has roundly criticized the reference for dehumanizing a segment of the population. The letter goes on to criticize the state’s High Court for using the term “illegals” in at least two opinions and the term “illegal aliens” in dozens of others.
It concludes with a list of acceptable and unacceptable terms relating to illegal immigration. Among those the group wants banned are; immigration crisis, immigration epidemic, open borders advocates, anchor babies and invaders. Among the acceptable terms are foreign nationals, unauthorized workers and human rights advocates. Since the courtrooms have ruled this way in Arizona, I think we should also ban the words "criminal", "thief", "homicide", "rapist" etc since those words also might skew the jury to convict someone based on THE FACTS! We wouldn't want THAT now would we?

Obama's Boston Aunt ILLEGAL ALIEN!

WASHINGTON - Barack Obama's aunt, a Kenyan woman who has been quietly living in public housing in Boston, is in the United States illegally after an immigration judge rejected her request for asylum four years ago, The Associated Press has learned.
Well, well, well ... he wants amnesty for 38 million illegal aliens - could his aunt's self-imposed predicament be playing a part in the BAD politics of amnesty?
Zeituni Onyango, 56, referred to as "Aunti Zeituni" in Obama's memoir, was instructed to leave the United States by a U.S. immigration judge who denied her asylum request, a person familiar with the matter told the AP late Friday. This person spoke on condition of anonymity because no one was authorized to discuss Onyango's case.
Information about the deportation case was disclosed and confirmed by two separate sources, one of them a federal law enforcement official. The information they made available is known to officials in the federal government, but the AP could not establish whether anyone at a political level in the Bush administration or in the McCain campaign had been involved in its release.
Onyango's refusal to leave the country would represent an administrative, non-criminal violation of U.S. immigration law, meaning such cases are handled outside the criminal court system. Estimates vary, but many experts believe there are more than 10 million such immigrants in the United States.
The AP could not reach Onyango immediately for comment. No one answered the telephone number listed in her name late Friday. It was unclear why her request for asylum was rejected in 2004.
Hmmm. She has no comment about why she refused to obey the law of the land or why she's STEALING funding meant for America's poor?
Onyango is not a relative whom Obama has discussed in campaign appearances and, unlike Obama's father and grandmother, is not someone who has been part of the public discussion about his personal life.
And now we know why.
A spokeswoman for U.S. Immigrations and Customs Enforcement, Kelly Nantel, said the government does not comment on an individual's citizenship status or immigration case.
Directive may reflect political sensitivity
Onyango's case — coming to light just days before the presidential election — led to an unusual nationwide directive within Immigrations and Customs Enforcement requiring any deportations prior to Tuesday's election to be approved at least at the level of ICE regional directors, the U.S. law enforcement official told the AP.
Oh, I see, so ajudge who has reviewed the facts of cases and deemed deportation appropriate and necessary can be overruled by a regional ICE officer?!?
The unusual directive suggests that the Bush administration is sensitive to the political implications of Onyango's case coming to light so close to the election.
Kenya is in eastern Africa between Somalia and Tanzania. The country has been fractured in violence in recent years, including a period of two months of bloodshed after December 2007 that killed 1,500 people.
The disclosure about Onyango came just one day after Obama's presidential campaign confirmed to the Times of London that Onyango, who has lived quietly in public housing in South Boston for five years, was Obama's half aunt on his father's side.
It was not immediately clear how Onyango might have qualified for public housing with a standing deportation order.
Wonder if she has a false/stolen social security number ... or several false/stolen numbers! There's even speculation (and lawsuits in TEN states) that NObama is also here ILLEGALLY.

First I would like to say that I am not very happy with the recent posts and slander that has come across our website, as a matter of fact, I'm downright Angry. The Mayor has stepped down from his position, which takes alot of heart No matter what anyone says, and I give him alot of respect for that. Regardless, what we need to do IS still move on with Taking our town back. There is NO need for bad mouthing The Mayor, There is NO need for Badmouthing the Residents in OUR town for Standing up for what is right in front of our Eyes, ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS. PERIOD This is NOT about Racism, about being Bigots as some may say, This is not about OUR benefits, we stand to gain Absolutely nothing from our Actions....BUT PRIDE AND HONOR. Pride for taking a stand for what is honest and just for standing up in what WE believe in. People NEED to do there Homework on ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION, There IS going to be another Attack on our Country, and it's going to be because we are not Protecting our Borders. There IS terrorists coming through, blending in with Illegals, It is a Known fact.
This site is called SAVESHENANDOAH.............That is just what we are trying to do, with that said there is NO need for name calling, Slander, and harsh words as the Recent Posts. The Mayor has Resigned, it's That simple, so leave it alone, leave him lead a better life with his family. I believe he understands that we are going to need someone in his seat that can Tell these People "NO" you are not coming into our town, "NO" you are not coming in our Schools and "NO" we are not a Racist communnity. The Mayor has stated in our Borough meeting a few things that have bother me. He said The Dept. of Justice refered to the VOICE OF THE PEOPLE as being a few things, this is why he did not go to our first Rally. Well I guess he's having second thoughts on that, Cause the Dept. of Justice is flat out Wrong. Flat out Slander is what I call it. And I will not go into further detail on that until I investigate a little further. (more to follow on that). When we talk about Slander, I think we need to know exactly what that is first.

Mayor Resigns Effective Jan. 01, 2009
It's Official the Mayor has submitted his Resignation to the Borough at tonight's Borough Meeting, all but one voted in favor of his Resignation. Effective Jan. 01, 2009 the Borough will appoint someone in his seat as Mayor for the remainder of the year. I want to take this time as well to say our hearts go out for his wife's illness, and wish her the best of recovery. Furthermore, we wish Mayor O'Neill the best in his future endeavors.Shenandoah Mayor Thomas F. O'Nell submitted a letter of resignation, effective Jan. 1, to the borough council Monday night.
In it, he said the primary reason for his action was the health and medical needs of his wife. A secondary reason, he said, were "obvious political conflicts that have led to my decision to spend my retirement in peace."

Save Shenandoah Rally Speeches - October 18, 2008
Save Shenandoah held our first ever rally this past Saturday the 18th of October, 2008. It was a pretty cold and breezy day and we'd like to thank all of those who braved the weather to attend. Though we didn't have the turnout that the Voice of the People USA organized rally had on August 30, it was a decent turnout for such a new group as ours.
We'd also like to thank all of those who came out and gave speeches with information that we can use in our community to better it. Below are all of those speeches in full.
We'd also like to invite all to attend the Council Meeting being held at Borough Hall this Monday October 20 at 7PM. The Council is set to vote on the Crime Watch we are trying to get started and if you are as concerned about crime as we are in our community come out and show your support.

Crime Watch Will Reduce Crime in Your Town
Neighborhood Watch is one of the oldest and best-known crime prevention concepts in North America. In the late 1960s, an increase in crime heightened the need for a crime prevention initiative focused on residential areas and involving local citizens. The National Sheriffs' Association (NSA) responded, creating the National Neighborhood Watch Program in 1972 to assist citizens and law enforcement. In 2002, the NSA in partnership with USA Freedom Corps, Citizen Corps and the U.S. Department of Justice launched USAonWatch, the face of the revitalized Neighborhood Watch initiative, which represents the expanded role of watch programs throughout the United States.
USAonWatch empowers citizens to become active in homeland security efforts through participation in Neighborhood Watch groups. Many neighborhoods already have established watch groups that are vibrant, effective, and can take on this expanded role with ease. For neighborhoods without thriving groups, the renewed emphasis on emergency preparedness and response may provide the right incentive for citizens to participate in Neighborhood Watch in their community.

How Is Neighborhood Watch Supposed to Work?
The most frequently suggested mechanism by which Neighborhood Watch is supposed to reduce crime is by residents looking out for and reporting suspicious activities to the police (Bennett, 1990). The link between reporting and crime reduction usually is not elaborated in the literature. It has been argued, however, that visible surveillance might reduce crime because of its deterrent effect on the perceptions and decision-making of potential offenders (Rosenbaum, 1987). Hence, watching and reporting might deter offenders if they are aware of the likelihood of local residents reporting suspicious behavior and if they perceive this as increasing their risks of being caught.
Neighborhood Watch might also lead to a reduction in crime by reducing the opportunities for crime. One method discussed in the literature is the creation of signs of occupancy, such as removing newspapers from outside neighbors’ homes when they are away, mowing the lawn, and filling up trash cans. Some of the methods were discussed in the report of the Seattle program (Cirel et al., 1977). Such signs of occupancy might reduce crime through the effect this has on potential offenders’ perceptions of the likelihood of their getting caught.
Conclusions
The results of previous systematic reviews of Neighborhood Watch are divided according to the conclusions drawn. Titus (1984) concluded that Neighborhood Watch was effective, but noted that the research methods were weak. Husain (1990) concluded that there was little evidence that Neighborhood Watch worked. Based on the four studies meeting their selection criteria, Sherman and Eck (2002) concluded that Neighborhood Watch was ineffective in reducing crime.
The strongest finding of this review relates to the mean effect size estimate produced by the meta-analysis. This indicated that, across all eligible studies combined, Neighborhood Watch was associated with a reduction in crime. It is not immediately clear why Neighborhood Watch is associated with a reduction in crime; however, it is possible that the reductions were associated with some of the essential features of the Neighborhood Watch programs as discussed earlier. Neighborhood Watch might serve to increase surveillance, reduce opportunities, and enhance informal social control. Unfortunately, this kind of information is not provided in the majority of evaluations and the precise reasons for the reduction cannot be determined.
